Waaaaaa???!!! I shouldn’t care about what the boss thinks?
Well yes, it IS important to understand WHAT the boss thinks.
But when the boss asks for YOUR opinion, give YOUR opinion. Don’t tell him or her what you think they want to hear. If the boss wants parrots, he or she would hire them.
Said another way, if two workers think exactly alike, one of ’em isn’t needed.
Most of the bosses I know and have been exposed to respect workers who aren’t afraid to express their opinions, as long as they are expressed professionally.
Thinking for yourself is definitely a career strategy, and much easier than trying to be a mind reader, right?
