Self Doubt is NOT Your Friend

This quote by FDR “The only limit to our realization of tomorrow is our doubt of today” was the subject of this Monday’s motivator.
Fear and doubt can cause inaction. If we let go of self-doubt and believe in what we’re capable of, we can accomplish more than we ever thought possible.

Here are three strategies to employ FDR’s quote and overcome self-doubt:

  1. Challenge negative thoughts: When self-doubt creeps in, pause and question those thoughts. Ask yourself if there’s real evidence for your doubts or if it’s just fear talking. Reframe negative thoughts into positive ones.
  2. Set small, achievable goals: Start by setting short-term goals that are realistic and attainable. Every time you hit a small goal, you build confidence and chip away at self-doubt.
  3. Practice self-compassion: Treat yourself with kindness and patience, especially when you make mistakes. Self-doubt often stems from harsh self-criticism, so give yourself credit for your efforts and progress instead of focusing on what could go wrong.
