Let’s face it, some of those people making (nuisance) sales calls are really good at what they do. They’ve learned the best techniques for keeping you on the line.
And even tho’ you may have registered for “no calls”, sometimes they do get through…
Simply hanging up is probably the easiest thing to do, but it could be useful to say that you don’t want to hear from them again. Most of these calls are recorded and can be traced, so having those words in your file can increase your chances of never hearing from them again.
Here are some strategies for dealing with them:
1. Say, “I don’t want this call again’.” Be direct and firm.
2. Don’t wait for the end of the call to talk.
3. Interrupt them straight away and, in a firm voice, tell them that you are not interested and that you want your phone number removed from their database immediately.
Well, it’s worth a shot, right?
