Many times, to achieve our goals, it is important that others know our capabilities and accomplishments. This involves self promotion and personal marketing. Yet, many people find this difficult to do – they feel that they are “tooting their own horns” or may be perceived as manipulative or self serving.

When your values drive your actions, your authenticity can enable you to share your thoughts without feeling like you’re being manipulative or insincere.
I think this is one of the reasons that the popularity of the “helping is the new selling” mantra is growing.
When you come at personal marketing from the angle of truly believing you can help, you can much more easily share information about your product or service or your qualifications.
Most people value helping others; their value is to help. That’s a great place to start.
