Yes, we have information overload. Information slams us from all angles these days. And not only are we overloaded with information, but our brains risk being overloaded with all that information as well.
Here is today’s best tip that can help you minimize your brain clutter.
WRITE IT DOWN!
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? But how many times do we load up our brain with all the things we need to do today? The list of items at the grocery store? The ideas we have?
If you get into the habit of writing things in a place where you can access them easily, you will relieve your brain. You will relieve your stress. And you will actually be more efficient and get more done.
I am a strong advocate of using planners. It doesn’t matter whether they are electronic or notebook – like. Planners allow you to place information on the date you need it, rather than trying to remember it all. For example, if you know you need to call someone Tuesday, place it on that date on your calendar, rather than keeping it on a list that you review every day. Out of sight. Out of mind (aka your brain.) But not out of control.
Every time you write something down, in a place where you will logically find it, you eliminate the stress of keeping it present in your noggin.
Doesn’t that sound awesome? Write more, stress less.
