How to Sell Yourself without Selling Yourself Out #4 – Know Your Bullets

In our last post we talked about selling YOU, the product.

Products have features, benefits, and outcomes.

It is always helpful to “know your bullets.” Bullets mean those product outcomes that make YOU the choice.

So what are YOUR bullets?

  • What is different about you and the way you do business?
  • Why should people believe you, rather than someone else?
  • Why should you be given the project to work?
  • What will happen differently when people work with you?
  • What results do your clients or co-workers enjoy?

When you work on developing your “bullets,” think about what makes you unique relative to all of those others out there. And don’t despair, you do have unique traits – everyone does!

And when you work on developing your “bullets,”  think of outcomes  rather than features.  A feature is how you do it, and outcome is the result.
