Guest blogging is becoming an important part of website promotion but managing the email contacts can be quite time-consuming. Indeed you will need to contact the webmasters, write the content, send it and then monitor the publication. All this can demand a lot of organization but with Gmail labels this task can become a breeze. In this article I will be sharing how to best use labels for guest blogging in order to make your planning much easier.
Normally what I do is that I contact the webmaster with a sample of my writing and also an outline of the article. Once the initial email sent you will receive an email from the webmaster accepting your article proposition. This is where you can create a label “To Write” and use it to classify the email.
Once you have written this article and sent it to the webmaster this does not mean that your article will be published on the same day. Sometimes it will be scheduled for at least one week later and you can easily forget about this. This is where creating a label “Not Yet Published” or any other suitable name can be quite useful to monitor these emails.
When finally your articles are live you will perhaps want to create a label “Published” where you will be able to classify all the articles that are online.

The advantage of using label is that it makes sorting easily and you can quickly find out which articles you still need to write, those that are not yet published and those that are already online.
