Sometimes our stress comes from our own self image, or at least from our own self limiting statements.
- I can’t learn this
- I’m not good at networking
- I’m always late
- I’m very disorganized
So here’s an option. Instead of a statement that sounds (or is) self limiting, change it to a question. A question that is “enabling.” Try these:
- How can I better learn this?
- What can I do to be a better networker?
- What actions can I take to be on time?
- What tips can I try to be better organized?
The challenge with negative self talk is that you risk actualizing the thought.
So, turn it around to a question that you can explore. It turns limiting thoughts into energizing action.
So, what questions will you ask yourself?
